There are so many great charities that carry out phenomenal work in our communities and we’ve always tried to help them all where we could. Our pubs support the charities local to their communities by raising money in house for charities of their choice through events and fundraising. On top of this, as a business, we have chosen to align with one charity partner and focus our energy into helping them to raise as much money as possible.

Our current charity partner is Tenovus: And we’ve wasted no time getting ourselves stuck in (sometimes literally) to fundraising.

We are delighted to announce our staff and customers have raised more than £100,000 for Tenovus since 2015.

The milestone has been reached following another fantastic 12 months of fundraising by Brains and Coffee#1 staff and customers across Wales and the south west.

Wales’ leading brewer and hospitality company agreed a partnership with Tenovus Cancer Care in 2015 and the relationship has been so successful, with Brains now the biggest annual fundraiser for Tenovus Cancer Care, an agreement has been put in place to extend the partnership for a third year.

Jon Bridge, Group Head of People for Brains, commented: “We must congratulate our staff and customers for all their incredible hard work in raising this money.

“From quiz nights in our pubs and charity events at our Cardiff Brewery, to taking part in sports events and challenges around the world, our staff have enjoyed coming up with different ways to raise money for Tenovus Cancer Care.

“Tenovus Cancer Care help so many people across Wales. We are very proud to be able to play a part in the excellent work they do and look forward to raising even more money over the next year.”

Claudia McVie, Tenovus Cancer Care Chief Executive said: “We can’t thank the staff at S.A. Brain and Coffee#1 enough. Raising £100,000 in two years is a fabulous achievement and the money they’ve raised will help us to fund vital research and make sure we’re there for people affected by cancer in communities right across the country.

“We’re so grateful to all the team and are thrilled that they’re now supporting us for a third year – simply fantastic.”
